Alright, in this video I'm going to show you how to play Moody Rock Riff 1d! I'm going to show you the rhythm and we’re gonna break it down piece by piece. So let's just jump into it! So the first little piece we're going to get down is this 5 - 7 - 5 - 3 So the nice thing is it's going… 1 e + a So if we jump to the TAB, we're going to go 1 e + a We're going to hammer-on the 5 to the 7 Then we're going to pull-off from the 7 to the 5 and then we're going to slide from the 5 to the 3 And I’m gonna hammer-on to the 7 with 1 e And then going e to + I'm going to pull-off 7 to 5 But I'm only going to hit the first note. Like that. So I only hit it once on that first, right there, hammer-on, pull-off. So that's 1 e + and then from the 5 I'm going to slide to the 3 for the + and the a And all of that motion is with only one hit of the string. 1 e + a So I'll go slowly again… 1 e + a A little faster… 1 e + a So once you have that down, move on to the next little part. The 2 e + a The 2 e + a is going… 3 - 5 - 3 - 0 That's a hammer-on, pull-off, pull-off again. So let’s look to the TAB. So there we're going 2 e + a Our first finger is already at the 3 So we're going to hammer-on to 5, pull-off to 3, but then we're going to pull-off to 0 So we'll start with our index finger for a hammer-on to the 5 from the 3 on the A string. 3 hammer-on 5, pull-off to 3, pull-off to 0 So that's 2 e + a again all with one stroke. 2 e + a So you put those together, you get… 1 e + a 2 e + a Slowly… 1 e + a 2 e + a And moving on to the next part it goes… Which is pretty simple. But we're going to break it down. Now the way this one works, we're going to go 3 e for the 5 slide to 7 Now my ring finger is already hovering over the 5 from the… So we're going to use that for the slide. We're going to go 5 slide to 7 We're going to go 3 e 3 e Then we're going to hold that 7 for an eighth note value. So it's going to be e + And on the a we’re going to get some vibrato on that 5th fret D string. So that's going to be 3 e + a Again… 3 e + a So we're going to hold the 5th fret of the D string through the rest of the measure, through that fourth beat. So now let's play the entire first measure slowly while counting. 1 e + a 2 e + a 3 e + a Then when we look at the second measure we start with a bend on the first beat. We're going 1 e + on the 7th fret of the D string. We're going to use our ring finger and we're going to go… 1 e + we're going to bring back down into place. So again that’s, 1 e + Then on the a we're going to land on the 5 of the D string and give it some more vibrato. So that's 1 e + a Again, that’s 1 e + a We're going to let that 5 go throughout the second beat, 2 e + a And then we're going to wrap up with this little piece here… So this part’s pretty simple. We're going to do 3 e We're going to do a pull-off with our ring finger to our first finger from the 7 to 5 on the G string. 3 e Then we're gonna take our ring finger and we’ll move it up for the + And we're going to hit the 7 on the D string. And then we're just going back to the 5 on the G string with the a With our index finger. So that's going to be 3 e + a If I play the whole second measure slowly… 1 e + a 2 e + a 3 e + a Then a little faster… 1 e + a 2 e + a 3 e + a So now I'm going to play the whole thing slowly, while counting through it. 1 e + a 2 e + a 3 e + a 4 e + a 1 e + a 2 e + a 3 e + a So now a bit faster… 1 e + a 2 e + a 3 e + a 4 e + a 1 e + a 2 e + a 3 e + a With just a little bit of patience and a little bit of practice, you're gonna nail it! It’s gonna sound awesome! Just remember to have fun and Happy Practicing!
